Marg Helgenberger was an American actress who achieved fame with her character Siobhan Ryan on the TV show "Ryan's Hope". Her transition from being a village girl Hollywood was quite remarkable. In the beginning, her desire wasn't to be an actor. At the beginning of her life, she had no aspirations of becoming an actress. However, it was her dream to follow in the footsteps of mother and to pursue a career in nursing. She became interested in acting while visiting colleges and deciding which degree she would choose to pursue. Her name was picked up by a talent searcher while acting in a school play. The talent scout urged her to look into a profession in which she could pursue. In the following year, after starring in "Ryan's Love she was offered "China Beach" as well as many other noteworthy film and TV roles, establishing her position as an actress. The role she played as a victim of exposure to chemicals in the film "Erin Brockovich" was among her most critically acclaimed roles. Marg has a hectic schedule but still manages to find the time to volunteer for charitable causes. Every year she is the host of an event for celebrities to fund Breast cancer research.
